She may not be new to Ascend, but we're super pumped to officially announce Tori as our newest coach in Ascend Underground.  Prior to her training and new position as Underground Coach, Tori was one of our Front Desk Reps.  Read on to learn more about Tori, and what you can expect from her in her classes in Ascend Underground.

What is your fitness background?

I have played sports my entire life- you name it, I’ve probably played it. I currently enjoy running, spending time outdoors hiking or biking, and taking classes at Ascend. I’m currently in my 9th year of teaching health and PE- currently at the middle school level- so fitness is part of my everyday life.

What are two words that you or others would use to describe your personality?  HOW ABOUT Your coaching personality?

Goofy and positive.  When coaching - determined and hard working.

What is an interesting/funny tid-bit about you that riders won’t know just from taking class?

I didn’t know that fist-pumping wasn’t a real dance move until college. Expect to see some fist pumping in class! I can’t help it- I’m from Jersey

Jacque the studio operations manager is my younger sister.

What are you passionate about?

I love working with children and adults and helping them learn something new and become a better person.

What do you like to do when you’re not at the studio?

I coach JV field hockey for Yorktown HS. I will be entering my 4th season. I love hanging out with friends and family and exploring new places.

If you could spend a week anywhere, where would it be, and why?

Port Douglas Australia. I went there on my honeymoon and would love to go back. It is the perfect beach town with a laid-back attitude and lots to do. You are right near the Great Barrier Reef and the rainforest, so there is always somewhere to explore.

What kind of music do you play in your classes?

I always tell everyone I have music ADD, so you will find a wide variety of music in my classes. I will listen to anything but country (sorry!), so you will find some EDM, house remixes of popular songs, and of course some good old 90’s and 2000’s throw backs
