Our clients come to Ascend for a variety of reasons: to lose weight, to gain confidence, to be held accountable, to burn off stress, to train for marathons and tris. But our clients come back for the experience. For these riders, Ascend means community. And at Ascend, community means love. We love our riders, our clients, our instructors, and our team. Stronger, Confident, Happier
I fell away from indoor and outdoor cycling after a decade-long love-affair with it and had been looking for a way to get back into it. I walked by Ascend Cycle for over a year before finally deciding to go in and give it a try, hoping to get back into cycling – and back into shape. I am so glad I did!
From the beginning, I felt at home at Ascend. The classes are challenging and leave you dripping with sweat but are never intimidating. The instructors are focused on the rider experience and could not be friendlier and more supportive. Each instructor seemed to know my name after only a class or two and made me feel valued. I felt a part of the Ascend family almost immediately and looked forward to seeing my workout friends at every class. After only a few weeks of going, I felt like I had been at Ascend for years.
I’ve been riding at Ascend about 3-5 times a week for over three months and couldn’t be more satisfied. After a stressful day in the office, I always look forward to class. A tough 50-minute ride leaves me feeling exhilarated with a great workout high, and the problems of the day seem much smaller. I’ve gotten stronger, have more energy, and am more confident and happier than I've been in years.
Being a numbers person, I also love getting my ride results by email after every class and watching them steadily improve. I’ve recommended Ascend to friends, and every one of them has kept going back, every bit as enthusiastic as I am.

Premier studio, premier community, 100% chance of feeling amazing
I’ve been working out at Ascend consistently for almost two years.
I love that there is a community. Everyone is welcoming and supportive. You can get your “sweat on” anywhere, but I really like the motivating vibe at Ascend. It’s so positive, encouraging, and it always helps me get my head right.
I feel better when I move, so for me it’s all about working hard, staying in shape (round is a shape!), and having a healthy outlet for stress. When the alarm goes off at 0500, some days it’s hard to get out of bed. But then I remind myself that if I can get myself to the studio, there is 100% chance I will feel amazing throughout the day. I have never regretted a workout at Ascend – not once!
I routinely attend classes in both Ascend Cycle and Underground. I really enjoy body weight exercises, ab/arm work and a little light weightlifting. The workouts in the Underground are super fun and empowering, and I love the variety. The strength training also makes me a stronger rider upstairs. If you’re considering the Underground but haven’t signed up, do it now!
Access to a premier spin studio and quality HITT and strength workouts would normally mean joining two different gyms. But not at Ascend! This place is really special and I am so thankful that Kat and her team have created such an awesome place in our community.

So much love…
I loved Ascend from my very first class back in May 2017 and kept coming back because of the convenient location. I live in Mount Vernon but my office is in Old Town, and it’s just a quick 10-15 minute drive over at the end of the day. There is no excuse to skip a workout after work with the studio so close.
After joining Ascend, I immediately felt better that I was working out again. I moved here five years ago from California and took way too long to find a workout routine that I enjoyed. I travel a lot for work, so I needed to find a place with classes that fit my schedule.
But beyond the location and the schedule, there’s just so much to love about Ascend:
I love the encouragement I get from the team at Ascend, including Kat, the owner. I signed up for nutritional counseling with her and she had some great tips on how I can stay focused, even with my travel. I really appreciate that the instructors make an effort to learn your name and feel like you’re part of their “Ascend Family.”
I love that instructors are really motivational. I always leave feeling like I’ve achieved my workout goals and my self-care for the day. I feel accomplished after I’ve pushed my body, and thankful for all it can do for me.
I love the new Ascend app – it’s so useful for booking classes, especially when I’m out of town. I can just pull the app up and schedule classes for when I’m home to keep myself on track with my goals. I also love to see my workout results via email after class!
I love both the cycling studio and Underground. The Underground classes definitely challenge me and put me outside my comfort zone, but I see results from lifting weights, so I sign up down there as often as I can. I also love when there are seasonal challenges – I really saw great results from the Challenge at the beginning of the year, and am looking forward to the next one!
I love the attention Ascend pays to the small details. It may seem insignificant, but I really appreciate the water dispenser, the toiletries (including hair ties!!) in the bathroom, and the minty towels. Even after sweating so much in class and working so hard, I always leave minty fresh and don’t have to be self-conscious to run in to pick up dinner or coffee on the way home.
In short, I really love Ascend!
