Katie brings the intensity to Ascend Underground with a master’s degree in exercise science, specializing in strength and conditioning, and extensive work as a personal trainer across the DMV.
Self-described as both charming and ruthless, Katie pushes her athletes to become better versions of themselves with every repetition. She motivates with her infectious energy and intense drills to music that inspires movement, pushing you to break down barriers. But don’t be scared – Katie is all about balance. She’ll be the first to recognize your efforts after a grueling set with a high five and a smile.
When she’s not lifting heavy weights, she’s unwinding with friends, playing guitar, sketching, and sampling beer in the neighborhood. Living a healthy life for Katie means feeling good, and she knows how to make our athletes proud of their work, every class, every time.
This Seattle native (Go Hawks!) and the assistant athletic trainer to DC United is part of the Ascend Underground team. Inside the studio, she’s committed and immersed in the workouts. Her passion? Developing the power of positive thinking and commitment inside each of her athletes, and remembering it’s all about balance.
Outside the studio, Alex is motivating and unpredictable...in a good way! Give her donuts and coffee to fuel her day, and mountains and ocean to fuel her soul. You can find her dreaming of snowboarding on fresh powder in the mountains, getting lost in the rhythmic movement of her strides on a long trail run, and dreaming of ways to light the fire inside of her athletes for each new workout. Alex’s classes are set to big beats – everything from hip hop, R&B, EDM, rock, rap – whatever gets her moving. Expect a high pace, high intensity full-body workout, with varied exercises to challenge and motivate – and get results.

This native of Slovakia is driven by one thing: your personal goals. Dominika started as a competitive runner, and began coaching to share her passion – and knowledge – with others. Using her degrees in exercise science and sports psychology, Dominika creates challenging routines to a mix of upbeat music during her classes. She knows successful coaching is about inspiring, and she uses her extensive background in physical fitness to get our athletes where they want to be.
When she’s not at the studio, you can find her spending time with her other great loves: her family, and perfecting paleo recipes, meditating, and dreaming of her next ski trip to Colorado. She’s as focused and strong in her class as she is about your goals – take a Body class with Dominika and watch your dreams become reality.
